My Rich Hometown

Batang

            Batang is my hometown, I was born and also grown there . Batang is a small regency in Central Java, so a lot of people from outside Central Java are unacquainted with Batang. They usually know well about Pekalongan, but they forget about Batang altough Batang is the nearest neighbour of Pekalongan. I am unsatisfy about the unfamiliarity of Batang, because actually Batang is a rich regency with its potential from destination, tradition, and also livelihood.

            Batang has several interesting destination in highlands , such as tea plantation named Pagilaran, pine forest in Sikembang which is popular as photo spot for teenager, some swimming pool in Bandar, some waterfalls, and also Jembatan Buntu in Subah. Batang also has some destination in coast, such as Sigandu Beach, Ujungnegara Beach, and Jodo Beach. There are also food tourism such as megono rice and seafood from local fisherman. Batang also has some unique tradition such as Kirab Pusaka, Nyadran, Dun-dunan, Mentak-mentik, Dragon Boat Competition, Ziarah, Kliwonan, Syawalan, and many others. Those tradition are still exist in this modern era because the society are aware that those are our assets. And about the livelihood in Batang, Batang has a lot of livelihood that can give income in great quantities for Batang itself. People who live in coast, they will be fisherman, and people who live in highlands, they will be farmer. Batang is also famous with its harbor, besides that, nowdays Batang builds the largest coal-fired power plant (PLTU) in South East Asia (ASEAN) with capacity of 2 x 1000 MW (2000 MW). Of course it will give a lot of income for Batang, and also give jobs for inhabitant of Batang.

            Batang is rich, wonderful, and pleasant. I love Batang and I will try to develop my hometown and make it famous and known by other people in other place in Indonesia and also in the world. And I will spend the rest of my life in Batang with its peacefulness and richness.

Descriptive Text : My strong cupboard

My strong cupboard

            My most lovely thing is an old strong cupboard , I have it since I was in third grade in Elementary School. It means that I have it for fourteen years. I got it from my parents for my birthday present. Until now, my cupboard is still strong to store my various goods. I love him very much because he is never broken, on the contrary he is still sturdy because he is made from teak. 

            My cupboard is in my bedroom, its position is in the right corner of my bed room. The dimensions of my cupboard are : 1 meter x 1 meter x 2 meters. The color of my strong cupboard is light blue in the front side and brown in the back side. My cupboard has some part, the widest part is in the top, it is used as the storage of my clothes, such as pant, shirt, skirt, and scarf. Beneath it, I use it as a wardrobe by hanging my long dresses there. In the drawer of my cupboard, I keep my documents and my books. I also placed my make-up in the dressing table which is included in my cupboard. My cupboard is completed by a huge mirror, so I can look my body overall at the mirror. There are various stickers in the door of my cupboard. On top of my cupboard, there are some embellishments from paper that I made it by myself. I am very thank to my cupboard that he accompanies me for long time, and I wish he will do that till the end of my life.

           Getting Lost in Sibiting

            Last holiday, my friends in Junior High School and I went to Sibiting. Sibiting was pine forest and waterfall that was located in Batang. Sibiting was a famous place in Batang, so we decided to go there, although we needed hours to go there.

            Firstly we met in my house at 9 a.m. But, we had to wait the other friend who was working. After my friend came, we had chit-chat for about an hour because we were rarely met. Then, at 10 a.m. we went to Sibiting. Jaka, Fadilah, Fima, and I ride motorcycle slowly, because the way to Sibiting was wavy and almost broken. So, we arrived in pine forest at 12 a.m. We took some pictures there, and also took selfie and wefie. We enjoyed the moment and beautiful sceneries.

            After that, we decided to go to Sibiting's waterfall. It didn't take a long trip to go there, we arrived in the parking area after five minutes riding. But, to go to the waterfall we had to walk through a wide tea plantation. We started walk to the waterfall, we followed the direction board, because there was no other people there. We confidently walked without any hesitancy. After we walked for about ten minutes, we found the scary road, with the ravines in the right and left. Sometimes, my friends slipped and got dirty clothes. But, we didn't think that it was the wrong way, we continued our trip. After we walked so far, we found crossroads, and then we realized that we chose the wrong way, because we didn't find the waterfall after a long trip.

            Then, we decided to go back to the parking area. When we arrived there, we protested the organizer about the direction board. The organizer observed the route, and he said that there was a naughty person who changed the direction board to the waterfall, so we got lost there. We were so angry to hear that. Afterward, we continued our trip to the waterfall with the right way. When we arrived there, we were so amazed with the beautiful waterfall, it's water is very clean and fresh. Without any command, we quickly paddled in the stream and of course we didn't forget to take wefie. 

            It was unforgettable holiday that I spent with my old friend.
