The Origin Name of Semampir Village
In
the 19th Century when Indonesian was colonized by Dutch. Indonesian
people was suppress, stupidity and poverty are clear felt. All of the harvest are
carried away by the colonizer, Indonesian people were forced to work for
colonizer without any payment. Then, there was a man called Pangeran Diponegoro
who wanted to help Indonesian people free from Colonizer. Pangeran Diponegoro
and his troops started to arrange the tactics to chase away the colonizer from
Indonesia.
The
time to attack Colonizer was started,
the headquarter of the troop was in Goa Selarong which located far from town,
so the colonizer couldn’t find them. First attack was successful, and they
started to continue the next attack,
although the troops only used traditional weapon, such as badik, keris, and
also ‘bambu runcing’. In the contrary, colonizer used modern weapon, such as
ordnance and gun.
The
war was happened since 1825 until 1830, for about five years Pangeran
Diponegoro and his troop hid in the forest and mountain range, in order to
avoid colonizer and also to arrange new tactics. Pangeran Diponegoro and his
troops got a great victory. It made the colonizer felt chaotic, and they decided
to do something crafty, they wanted to catch Pangeran Diponegoro. Unlucky, they
were successful with their plan, they could catch Pangeran Diponegoro by
pretending to make peace with him. Pangeran Diponegoro was caught by colonizer
and he was isolated in Makassar. After Pangeran Diponegoro was isolated, then
the troops saved themselves by spread out to Yogyakarta and Central Java.
One
of the troops of Pangeran Diponegoro who spreaded out was Ki Buyut Proyononggo.
He roamed around Central Java to save his life. He was well-known as a man who
had a great spiritual skill. Ki Buyut disguised and mixed with the society, in
order to avoid colonizer. In his roaming, he had never slept in the room, he preferred

couldn’t find him. The way that he passed was dangerous because there were some
harmful ravines and also wild animal, but Ki Buyut never gave up. Along his
trip, Ki Buyut was followed by colonizer’s spies, so he decided to sleep in the
steam. He slept like a bat. Because of that tactic, he could deceive the
colonizer’s spies and also could avoid wild animals’ attack.
One
day, Ki Buyut arrived in a place where was quiet and there were only some house
there. Ki Buyut took arrest for some days at that place and he mixed with the
other people there, but he was still slept in a steam or Javanese called it “Semampir”.
Ki Buyut realized that there was no colonizer’s spy who followed him. Then he
decided to stayed there, as a new in habitant, Ki Buyut helped people who needed
some help. He taught people to read Al-Qur’an, and he also cared sick people.
Ki
Buyut was happy to interact with other people, and he was closer with in
habitant of that place, moreover, he was reputed as family. The people of that
place were very helped by Ki Buyut, so they considered him as the leader. Ki Buyut
married a girl in that place t omitted loneliness because he didn’t have any
family in that place. He then had some children. When he was old, he decided to
have meditation in the steam for 40 days.
The
way Ki Buyut had meditation was like a bat or Javanese called it “Semampir”. So, the place called as “Semampir
Village” and now his grave was sacred by the people around.
That
